These masks look fantastic I love that they are full of colour and wonderfully detailed patterns. In particular I would like to mention the ‘lion mask’ it has used a mixture of materials, colours and patterns to really capture a strong sense of African culture and identity. Well done Year 7.
I think the red cheetah mask looks superb because the spots and the teeth on the mask are very detailed and its done carefully with no rush and the mask has full colour and definitely looks like an african mask.
Excellent comment, thanks Archie. I'm sure Ted will be pleased. See Ms Durkin next lesson for ☆credit☆.
I loved all the masks they were really creative and they should all be proud at what they have done.
Encouraging comment, thanks Lucy. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
i particuly like tha mask that is at the bottom righthand corner-i think its amir's, i like this mask because it has a range of effective patterns particualy around the eyes and head i.e:the spikes on the top. amir has put in more earth colors and this gives us a taste of african culture. WELL DONE AMIR
Yes, that is Amir's mask. You have done well to reference the colour scheme, an excellent comment Leoni. Remember to check spelling and punctuation. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.

I really like all of the masks because of how original and fantastic they are cause of there use of colours and there shape!! I especially like the blue one with the red lips cause its quite simple and the lips are unique and the more basic it looks the more detailed it is.
Great comment Farah, you have done well to speak generally of the collection of masks as well as choosing your favourite. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I think that all of the masks are magnificent in their own way because every single person has put a lot of time and effort into all the aspects of their masks. However the one that really stands out for me is the blue mask with the leaf type hair and the red mask around it's eyes, I think that this mask is exceptionally well done because not only has the artist put thought into the painting and making the mask but has put a lot of thought into the design of the mask. The design is very good because the leaf hair is an original and unique idea that no one has thought of and still has an African theme to it. The whole mask is very detailed and the artist has used a range of colours to make it. So I believe that the artist and everyone else that has created an African mask should feel proud of themselves.
Brilliant commentary Amir, thank you. You have explained yourself effectively with encouraging words and praise. See Ms Durkin for ☆credits☆ next lesson.

i like the lion one because the person has put a lot of effort and looks good.

I think this project was fun and everybody learnt something. All the designs were fantastic and very different. My two favourites were the one based on a scream mask and the one with the peacock feathers attached to it. I think that the scream one is good because of the contrasting colours used and the very large mouth. The peacock one was good because they used real feathers and i liked the glossy finish on the black.
Excellent commentary George, thank you. You have composed your praise well. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.

i think that the tiger skin drawing was brilliant! it had the right texture and at the middle where the real p9cture of the skin was i thought that was part of the image it was also good because it also had the excact coulors for it and looks awesome...overall, all masks created are brilliant in their own unique way and should be proud...

i thought this project was fun and it gave everyone a benifit of being creative and having the change to show their ideas. One of the masks i really liked was the one that looked like the Lion King, because it had different colours added to it, and it was a original shape and has its own shapes and patterns. I liked the way they really bought their creativity and imagination towards this make.
Excellent comment Chloe. You have explained your thoughts well. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I really think all of these masks are great. I especially like the fact that people have extended their masks and added different things such as longer mouths. I also like the fact that people have made things coming out their masks to make it look for example a deep mouth. I also like the fact that people have used different African patterns to really express their masks. They have also used a range of colors to make their masks flamboyant. I think everyone should be proud of their masks.
Excellent comment Dorian. You have explained your thoughts well by describing what you like about the masks in detail. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.

I also like it because it has a great lion pattern on it and has been painted with extra detail and care and has a great use of colours. All of the masks are amazing and everyone who made them should be very proud of themselves for creating such brilliant pieces of artwork.

I really like the black maski with the peacock feathers and beads,It's very imaginative and original. I also like how the patterns weren't painted n but stuck on with beads. It is very nicely painted and the colours were chosen well as the black background makes the colourfull beads stand out!

I liked the African mask with the brown colour scheme. Exspecially when some of the features popped out. The way you did the dots on the mask has an massive affect and looks really good. This mask looks REALLY realistic and you have spent a long time on,bt all of the other masks are really nice as well!!!!!
Good comment, thanks Shanaz. Your lion mask has been extremely popular on here, I hope you have read alll the praising comments are proud of yourself! See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
my favorite mask is the yellow, black and brown one because the coulours and the neatness of the mask. I also like it because of the african patterns. My favorite part of it is the circle above the eyes and on the cheeks because the circles are so well designed
You have described your opinions well, thank you Sam. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I think each and every mask is exceptional for the reasons that you can see how much time and effort is put in all of them just to make them unique and stand out. However, the mask that caught my eye was the lepord skin mask. I specifically like the way they have kept a colour scheme corresponding throught the whole mask. In addition, I think the pattern chose is amazing, they have kept a steady hand and kept they're painting skills to an exeptional high standard. Furthermore, I also like the way they have extended they're mask and created an unusual yet beautiful shape. This shape creates a wild and exotic atmosphere and creates a vivid feature. Also I like the way the artis has used a bright colour as a backround as it emphasizes the black pattern painted onto the mask. Great work!
What a fantastic critique Gabriella! You have thought about your opinions thoroughly and explained yourself showing great artistic awareness, thank you. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I think that all the masks are fantastic and are at an extremely high standard, however the one i particularly like is the shiny black one with the beautiful and unique peacock feathers on the top. Moreover this catches your eye as it shiny and very bright. As well as looking astonishing you can tell that a lot of time and effort has been put into the mask and it has been carefully thought through. Moving on the diamante pattern is superb it really adds to the shiny black background, which really gives the mask emphasis. The colors picked compliment each other and go very nicely. Not only have the diamonds been stuck onto the mask, they have also been brought in from home meaning that the producer has thought outside the box, to produce an eye opening mask. Furthermore the diamonds have not just been stuck on there any old how they have been placed methodically. The mask is an outstandingly high level and the owner of this art work should be very proud as should every other student!
This is a really well written comment Athena and very complimentary about your choosen mask. Well done! See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I think the mask ,at the top, that is mainly brown and yellow is best, because the different shades of brown and yellow blend together, making it stand out. The paint has been applied very carefully and the lips have been made bigger then other masks making it unusual. The parts of the mask where they have been made 3D are eye catching because they have blending in with the mask.
You have explained your opinions really well Frankie and have thought about the process that the went through and the design decisions. Well done! See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I like all of the masks, but my favourite is the black one with red beads and peacock feathers. The colour of the feathers stands out against the dark black background, and the shape of the face is elegant also.
Excellent description of why you have selected that mask as your favourite Daniel. Well done! See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I like all the masks on this page because all of them are unique but still give the feeling that they're all African. I especially liked the lion mask with the pink face because it stands out with the variety of materials used and bright colours.
All masks are all good and high quality. I especially like the black shiny one with the feather on the top. The matching of the colour is very good(blue and black)and the creativity of the work is exellent. I can see how much the artist put effort into the mask including the bit where the artist brang in the feathers in the lesson. The beeds stand out as much as the feathers as well. The standered of work stands out in the many masks.
I like the one at the top because it is a unique design for a mask and has lovely shades of brown it must have taken a long time because it loooks
Well done for spotting the different shades of brown in the design. Thanks for the comment Najma. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I like all the masks because they all look very African. I especially like the light blue with the green and white. It stands out to me because of it's paterns and the colours go with eachother.
The colour scheme and patterns really do stand out well on this mask Ferdous, good choice! See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
the tiger paterned one is good because its really detailed and looked like the origial one...
Good choice Evan. Try to explain your opinions using more detailled descriptions please. See Ms Durkin for ☆credit☆ next lesson.
I Like the tiger pattern. Because it is very creative and animated. You can see that the artist has thought careful about their design. It reminds me of the the cowardly lion in the wizard of oz. I also like that she has stuck to one colour scheme but with different shades and tones.
I love the mask that looks like it's out of scream 4, it has lots of colours on it, it is very well detailed and its a brilliant creative design idea, well done to the person who made that mask.
i think that the golden brown one is very good because it has a great explosion of colours and the colours are dark and light so its a great mixture of the two
I ENJOYED THE 4TH ONE BECAUSE IT HAS USED COLOUR RENDERING AND HAS MADE IT LOOK TOGETHER AND MAKE IT LOOK MORE 3-D WITH THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHAPES. I LIKE THE WAY THERE ARE NEW SHAPES POPPING OUT MAKING NEW PATTERNS AND MAKING IT FEEL 3-D AS THERE HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT ARTS AROUND IT TO CHANGE THE TEXTURE OR THE FEEL OF THE MASK FROM SOFT TO ROUGH. I LIKE THE WAY THE COLOUR ARE DIFFERENT AND EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DIFFERENT, THEY LOOK NICE AND DIFFERENT AND THE COLORS REALLY BLEND IN WITH THE STYLE AND MAKES IT LOOK NICE AND EYE CATCHING AND DOES NOT SEEM WEIRD. THE COLOUR MATCHES WITH THE STYLE OF THE MASK AND THE TEXTURE OF THE MASK TO MAKE IT FEEL ROUGH BUT NEATLY BALANCED THE PANT AND DID MORE WORK ON IT WITH THE PATTERNS AND THE MAKING AND RENDERING OF THE COLORS TO MAKE IT LOOK EYE-POPPING AD MAKE YOU GLACE AT IT FOR HOURS AND HOURS DESCRIBING THE TEXTURE AND THE FEEL OF THE WORK. IT LOOKS REALLY REALISTIC AND IT HAS GOT THE STYLE OF THE AFRICAN MASK AND HAS THAT AFRICAN TOUCH AND FREEDOM OF THE AFRICAN CULTURE.
i like the 1last mask because the person added a lot of detail to it and it had alot of nice colours that match it and.
