  1. These masks look fantastic I love that they are full of colour and wonderfully detailed patterns. In particular I would like to mention the ‘lion mask’ it has used a mixture of materials, colours and patterns to really capture a strong sense of African culture and identity. Well done Year 7.

  7. I think that all of the masks are magnificent in their own way because every single person has put a lot of time and effort into all the aspects of their masks. However the one that really stands out for me is the blue mask with the leaf type hair and the red mask around it's eyes, I think that this mask is exceptionally well done because not only has the artist put thought into the painting and making the mask but has put a lot of thought into the design of the mask. The design is very good because the leaf hair is an original and unique idea that no one has thought of and still has an African theme to it. The whole mask is very detailed and the artist has used a range of colours to make it. So I believe that the artist and everyone else that has created an African mask should feel proud of themselves.

  12. I think this project was fun and everybody learnt something. All the designs were fantastic and very different. My two favourites were the one based on a scream mask and the one with the peacock feathers attached to it. I think that the scream one is good because of the contrasting colours used and the very large mouth. The peacock one was good because they used real feathers and i liked the glossy finish on the black.

I think each and every mask is exceptional for the reasons that you can see how much time and effort is put in all of them just to make them unique and stand out. However, the mask that caught my eye was the lepord skin mask. I specifically like the way they have kept a colour scheme corresponding throught the whole mask. In addition, I think the pattern chose is amazing, they have kept a steady hand and kept they're painting skills to an exeptional high standard. Furthermore, I also like the way they have extended they're mask and created an unusual yet beautiful shape. This shape creates a wild and exotic atmosphere and creates a vivid feature.
Also I like the way the artis has used a bright colour as a backround as it emphasizes the black pattern painted onto the mask. Great work!

  42. I think that all the masks are fantastic and are at an extremely high standard, however the one i particularly like is the shiny black one with the beautiful and unique peacock feathers on the top. Moreover this catches your eye as it shiny and very bright. As well as looking astonishing you can tell that a lot of time and effort has been put into the mask and it has been carefully thought through. Moving on the diamante pattern is superb it really adds to the shiny black background, which really gives the mask emphasis. The colors picked compliment each other and go very nicely. Not only have the diamonds been stuck onto the mask, they have also been brought in from home meaning that the producer has thought outside the box, to produce an eye opening mask. Furthermore the diamonds have not just been stuck on there any old how they have been placed methodically. The mask is an outstandingly high level and the owner of this art work should be very proud as should every other student!

  43. I think the mask ,at the top, that is mainly brown and yellow is best, because the different shades of brown and yellow blend together, making it stand out. The paint has been applied very carefully and the lips have been made bigger then other masks making it unusual. The parts of the mask where they have been made 3D are eye catching because they have blending in with the mask.

  46. All masks are all good and high quality. I especially like the black shiny one with the feather on the top. The matching of the colour is very good(blue and black)and the creativity of the work is exellent. 53. I ENJOYED THE 4TH ONE BECAUSE IT HAS USED COLOUR RENDERING AND HAS MADE IT LOOK TOGETHER AND MAKE IT LOOK MORE 3-D WITH THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHAPES. I LIKE THE WAY THERE ARE NEW SHAPES POPPING OUT MAKING NEW PATTERNS AND MAKING IT FEEL 3-D AS THERE HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT ARTS AROUND IT TO CHANGE THE TEXTURE OR THE FEEL OF THE MASK FROM SOFT TO ROUGH. I LIKE THE WAY THE COLOUR ARE DIFFERENT AND EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DIFFERENT, THEY LOOK NICE AND DIFFERENT AND THE COLORS REALLY BLEND IN WITH THE STYLE AND MAKES IT LOOK NICE AND EYE CATCHING AND DOES NOT SEEM WEIRD. THE COLOUR MATCHES WITH THE STYLE OF THE MASK AND THE TEXTURE OF THE MASK TO MAKE IT FEEL ROUGH BUT NEATLY BALANCED THE PANT AND DID MORE WORK ON IT WITH THE PATTERNS AND THE MAKING AND RENDERING OF THE COLORS TO MAKE IT LOOK EYE-POPPING AD MAKE YOU GLACE AT IT FOR HOURS AND HOURS DESCRIBING THE TEXTURE AND THE FEEL OF THE WORK. IT LOOKS REALLY REALISTIC AND IT HAS GOT THE STYLE OF THE AFRICAN MASK AND HAS THAT AFRICAN TOUCH AND FREEDOM OF THE AFRICAN CULTURE.
