Year 7 'My Journey to School'

Year 7 students spent the Summer term  working on their 'My Journey to School' projects. Students began by exploring different mark making techniques before studying the artwork of David Hockney. Together with primary source research based on their own journey to school, students developed these into Hockney-inspired paintings.

Welcome Year 7!

As we welcomed our new Year 7 students this month, the first thing we needed to do was learn each others names!

Our fantastic new Year 7 students created these name signs to use each Art lesson. These signs not only demonstrate the great artistic potential of Year 7 students, but also show their personalised approaches to styles of lettering.

Year 7 students then progressed onto discussing their expectations of Art lessons and how we can create the best environments for learning. The results were developed into these posters which will go on display in the Art classrooms.

*Update* Postcard Swap

During our Summer Term 2012, Year 7 and Year 8 students created and posted their postcard entries for Schoolswaps and International Youth Arts Festival postcard swap and exhibition.

This year's theme was 'Let me introduce myself' and students created a handmade postcard to take part in the biggest international postcard swap and exhibition of the year!

The fantastic student artwork from all around the world was beautifully exhibited in Kingston this Summer.
